MASEVEN City Guide

Enjoy the fresh air in Munich's most beautiful parks

The quality of green spaces is especially important when you live in the city. Fortunately, Munich has a lot of them. Near our two MASEVEN apartment hotels there are also many beautiful parks and green spaces. For additional variety, you can drive in or out of the city – there are even more beautiful parks and gardens less than 30 minutes away.

Our favorites near MASEVEN

Riemer Park

Just a short walk from MASEVEN is one of the most beautiful and largest recreational areas in the Munich area. Riemer Park is a 210-hectare landscape park that begins directly behind Messestadt. Residents and visitors use the lawns for sports, the paths for jogging and the Riemer See for water activities.

Ostpark

A little further south is the Ostpark, but if you’re in the mood for a stroll, you can reach it on foot in less than an hour. Once there, you can also refresh yourself with a Radler or wheat beer at the Michaeli Beer Garden. The beer garden is located right by the park’s lake, which covers a large part of the grounds. There’s also a playground nearby, so kids won’t get bored.

Zamilapark

The small but beautiful Zamilapark is located about three kilometers from both MASEVEN hotels. In the center of the park is a lake, many parts of the park are planted with trees and a generous network of paths allows for idyllic walks. Zamila Park also has a restaurant and a playground for children.

Lake Heimstetten

The Heimstettener See is a bathing lake with excellent water quality, which can be reached from the hotel in about ten minutes by car. As with a well-equipped outdoor pool, there are sanitary facilities, a kiosk, playgrounds and sunbathing areas. The perfect place for a hot day in the middle of summer in Munich.

Perlach Forest

Perlacher Forst is perhaps the most popular forest area for hikers in Munich. It is located in the south of the Bavarian capital and covers more than 13 km². Cyclists and e-bikers also love it here: About 20 km of the Munich RadlRing bike path runs through the Perlacher Forst. In addition, the Kugler Alm (traditional beer garden with playground) is an attractive destination for a bike tour.

English Garden

The English Garden is a must on any list of Munich parks. With a total area of 375 hectares, it is one of the largest parks in the world and was designed in the English style. Today it is a popular place for Munich residents and tourists to sunbathe, picnic, jog or stroll.

Luitpold Park

This historic city park is located in the heart of Munich, but you can reach it from MASEVEN Trudering without changing trains by taking the U2 subway line. The park’s 33 hectares of trees provide plenty of shade even on the sunniest days. Sights include the Obelisk and the Hedge Maze, as well as Luitpold Hill, which offers a panoramic view of the city.

Olympic Park

Created for the 1972 Summer Olympics, the Olympic Park with its Olympic Tower is one of the city’s most important landmarks. Numerous festivals, sporting events, concerts and other events take place here every year. Young and old alike enjoy the park’s green spaces and Olympic Lake for sports and relaxation.

Poing Wildlife Park

The Poing Wildlife Park is located to the east, about 20 minutes by car from the MASEVEN houses. A 570,000 m² nature park where you can watch wild animals roaming free. An experience that is particularly popular with children, not least thanks to the new water playground.

Farm Garden Schleißheim

For this park, we take you to the northern gates of Munich, to the community of Oberschleißheim: the court garden of Schleißheim Palace is considered a prime example of 17th-century garden design. The canals that structure the garden, the incredible lawn patterns and the fountains will impress you every time you visit.
