Outdoor Activities in Munich

MASEVEN City Guide

Enjoy the outdoor season in Munich

Few cities are more fun in the summer than Munich. The “northernmost city of Italy”, as some locals call it, inspires with its many sunny days, large green spaces and fun leisure activities. We show you the best outdoor activities near the hotel, but also take you to the city center. Have fun exploring!

Our favorites near MASEVEN

Golfing in Riem

If you are at MASEVEN often and like to golf, a membership at the Golfclub Riem is worthwhile. The golf course is beautifully laid out in the oval of the Riem racecourse and situated not far from both MASEVEN hotels. Here, weather permitting, you can play a relaxing 9-hole round or improve your game on the practice facilities.

Riem Flea Market

A flea market is so much more than just a collection of junk. Flea markets allow forgotten items to have a second life, so they are sustainable and affordable. In addition, each flea market also serves as a social space. You get to talk and learn many an interesting story behind a commodity.

Aschheim Car Cinema

They have almost fallen into oblivion, but nostalgics keep you a bit alive – the drive-in cinemas. And rightly so, we think! In summer, it is simply much more fun to watch a movie outdoors with the deck or windows down than to sit in a movie theater! Not far from the MASEVEN Hotels, the drive-in cinema Aschheim is waiting for you.

Roberto Beach

A beach in the east of Munich? As strange as it may sound, it really exists in the form of a beautifully landscaped event location right next to the Aschheim water ski park. With sand, beach volleyball courts and a beach bar. This is joined by a casual dining restaurant where you can enjoy light summer cuisine and sea food specialties.

Water Ski Park Aschheim

For offbeat water sports, it’s worth going to the Aschheim Water Ski Park. Enthusiastic wakeboarders and water-skiers cavort there. But beginners are also welcome here. The organizer offers regular courses and, of course, you can also rent equipment on site.

Lake Riem

Lake Riem is the most popular recreational area in the east of Munich and is just an extended walk from MASEVEN Hotels. In addition to water sports, you can also get active on the shore. For example, jogging or cycling around the lake, playing volleyball or if you want to join in a game of basketball.

Biking in Munich and the Surrounding Area

Munich is considered a bicycle city. Many bikes can be found in the city and the bike path network is very well developed. At the same time, with the English Garden and the Olympic Park, two large parks are waiting for you, where you can ride your bike in peace. By the way, there are also many opportunities near the hotel. The rental bike and tour tips you get from us!

The „Crazy Ice Cream Maker“

If you’ve set out on your bike toward downtown Munich, you might stop there at one of the many excellent ice cream parlors. Nowhere, however, will you find more unusual gelato than at Verrückter Eismacher, which now has three different locations. And don’t worry, they don’t just serve ice cream that tastes like wheat beer, roast pork or sauerkraut!

Beer Gardens in Munich

If you prefer a hoppy refreshment instead of a sweet one, Munich is the place to be. Germany’s beer city is said to be home to a thousand beer gardens and more than 500 pub gardens. With such an impressive selection, you’re sure to find a nice place to stop during your bike ride. Cheers to summer and the open-air season!

Surfers on the Eisbach Wave

If you have your surfboard with you, you can also use it to go to the center of Munich to the famous Eisbach wave. If, on the other hand, you left it at home, the side trip is still worth it. The Eisbach surfers are a curious sight that you must have made in the Munich summer.
